CIMIC Weekend School

CIMIC Weekend School

  • Tuition is $100/student for Islamic Studies & Quran – $5/sibling discount applicable
  • Tuition is $50/student for Arabic School

The CIMIC Weekend School has been serving the Champaign-Urbana community for nearly five decades. The school aims to provide an Islamic education–including Quran, Aqeedah, Prophet’s Seerah and Islamic history–while also helping prepare Muslim youth to become model participants of a multi-religious society. Students range from ages 5-18.

In addition to our teachers, our Imam Ousmane Sawadogo and Quran Sheikh (Sheikh Khalid) teach classes at CIMIC Weekend School to share their knowledge with the students.

Additionally, CIMIC offers an optional Arabic class. Separate registration is required if your child will take part in both the optional Arabic Class and the CIMIC Weekend School.

Activities:

In addition to the regular curriculum, CIMIC Weekend School often works with community organizations in order to give students a broader learning experience. Students in the older classes have utilized their lessons on Da’wah by hosting non-Muslim visitors from area Churches. The Center for South Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (CSAMES) has sent representatives to the younger classes to give guest presentations on Islamic Art. In addition, students in the school have often helped with CIMIC fundraising endeavors and outreach programs. The Weekend School also runs an annual Summer Camp.
